History

Cornerstone Insurance grew out of a straightforward belief: people in the Piedmont and Upstate deserve insurance professionals who understand their communities firsthand. The agency was founded by experienced insurance veterans who had spent years inside large carriers and saw an opportunity to do things differently.

Starting with a small office in the Charlotte metro area, the team focused on building relationships one household, one business at a time. That personal approach resonated. Clients referred friends. Local businesses signed on. The agency expanded naturally, driven by reputation rather than advertising.

A pivotal moment came with the decision to go independent, leaving a captive carrier arrangement to represent multiple insurance companies. That move gave Cornerstone the ability to shop the market on behalf of clients, compare rates, and find coverage options that a single-carrier model simply could not match.

Growth followed in the Charlotte area, Concord, the Triad region, and across the Upstate into Greenville, Spartanburg, Easley, Anderson, and the Clemson area. Each new office brought dedicated local agents who already knew the territory.
